The PC was one of the options I used on my Magnetti-Marelli bike. It worked well until the bike developed other problems. I think your best bet is to see of you can find the HD SERT for the old M&M systems. That way you are tuning the ECM directly. Then you need to find a good tuner. The problem with the old M&Ms is that when they start acting up a lot of shops don't know how to work with them. Like me a lot of frustrated M&M owners go with either Zippers T-Max or a carb. The system is usually okay if left alone. But once it starts acting up, it can be a real pain to deal with.

Harley Tech Talk has some good gear heads who are familiar with the M&M system and can provide you better guidance.

I used Power Commanders on several Marelli bikes over the year.  The Marelli bikes have their quirks.  But in the right hands they're fine.  And the Power Commander devices work fine with them.  You have other options of course.  But the M&M / Power Commander option is not a bad one.

If you'd like it for a baseline to work from I've got a Power Commander map for a 2000 model 95 inch SE Road Glide.  Bike had true duals and 510 cams.  PM me your email address and I'll send it along.

I been talking with Wayne from speed preformance plus says he has a good handle on the marelli, and talked my ear off on how good he could make it run at the muskegon bike time event, just not sure if he was spreadin snake oil or  :drink:not, but has me talked into giving it a try , so much for keepin it stock  ::)

Adding the Power Commander doesn't make any permanent alteration to the bike.  Anything physically plugged in could be unplugged in just a few minutes.  So you're not making any difficult changes to the "stockness" of the bike.

Ask almost anyone here.  You'll find a resounding concensus that the holy trinity of changes of cams/pipes/air intake still count as stock.  When so many do it it can't be wrong ::) .

Strictly for chatter and comparison I've had good luck with Dave Mackie's version of a 510 cam with 2-1 exhaust on a 2000 SE Road Glide.  It comes in early and pulls all the way through the cruising range.  It's a combination that has worked to create a very pleasant ride.

TTS Mastertune has the Magneti-Marelli version now.  It is the same as the old SE Race tuner for MM.
