Man Likely Killed Self After Westmoreland County Deer Crash

CRABTREE, Pa. -- Police said they think a Westmoreland County motorcyclist who struck a deer with his bike killed himself after the crash.
State police said William Amos, 47, of Export, likely died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday. Amos' body was discovered under his bike near a dead deer along Route 819 near Ridge Road in Crabtree, about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Investigators initially suspected Amos died from injuries sustained in the crash, but they discovered a handgun and a bullet wound to the back of his head after lifting the bike off his body. State police Tpr. Stephen Limani said investigators are still awaiting the results of gunpowder residue tests.

He was really pissed about his bike, I guess?

Since his body was under the bike maybe he was severely injured and getting burned by the bike, or afraid the bike would catch fire or he wouldn't be found if a deserted road? He may have been is such pain that he couldn't take it any longer or was afraid to live life paralyzed?
Lot's of possibilities that only he can answer I guess?
I feel for him and his family.

Gun shot suicide with self inflicted gunshot wound to the back of their head, is pretty uncommon but it does happen.  The problem with GSR (gun shot residue kits) is that they are not that reliable, and take forever to come back from the State lab.  Suicides or suspected suicides typically aren't at the top of the priority list. Many factors to consider when GSR kits are used, was the bike leaking fuel or oil? Did he recently pump fuel? Was the road asphalt? If so did his hand scrape the asphalt during the crash. Other things to consider, Was it a contact wound? If it was a contact wound was there blow back on his hand? Is he right handed or left handed? Bullet trajectory? Was where the firearm found? Just my 2 cents

As well as : Where was the gun found?  Where was he carries it ? If the bike was laying on him and he was unable to get out from under it how did he get his gun out of its holster or vest pocket?
