Second garage door transmitter wanted
« on: February 27, 2006, 01:38:23 AM »

Hi All,
Has anyone tried the 91561-01A ($65.95) remote garage door opener transmitter with the receiver which came with the '06 CUSE? I would like to put a transmitter on my '01 RKC to work as the CUSE does, that is have two bikes enabled to open the same garage door without having to buy another receiver
Thanks

Had it on each of my last two Road Kings.  Same transmitter of course.  Just no pigtail on this version of it.  It splices in to the headlight harness inside the nacelle while the xmitter itself is held to the frame right behind the neck with two sided tape.  It's an easy install.

Another option is to pickup a transmitter from one of the big box home supply stores. They're relatively cheap (less than $30); work with nearly every brand of door operator and their range is far better than the HD transmitter/receiver. I've got one I've used for many years on several of my bikes. It's only about 1.5 inches square and 1/2 inch thick. I velcroed it under the edge of my seat on my Road King. It would activate the garage door at least a half block away. With my CUSE transmitter, you have to be within 20 feet of the door for it to work. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Mine works as soon as I turn the corner, Im in the back of a court, Id say....about 180 feet away.

You also can get a keychain sized remote if you have the lift master garage door opener, it velcroes nicely too.
