You know I didn't fully try everything with the controls, but you are right; I was able to scroll songs with the right control.

Okay final update, spoke with HD yesterday, and the solution they gave me was that the install instruction was wrong. They have to amend them. Okay you have to reverse two wires, 19 going to 31- and 31 goes to 19. It worked for me, now the interrupt is not as good as cellset. You don't get whole sentence, if it's ( turn right) I only get (right) lol :-\ So that's it

You know, I followed the install for the iPod interface, not the nav interface. I never looked at them to see if the pin out was the same. I don't have the iPod instructions here with me to look. That would explain why mine worked, but no one doing just the nav install did.

I installed my iPod interface and gps interface this am and in went very easy. Followed the directions and everything worked fine.  Still trying to figure out the playlists from the handlebar controls, but all else works as stated.  The voice prompts worked well over iPod and radio.

Happy trails.  8)

Still not clear on the nav interface. If you switch pin 19 and 31, does it work as advertised? Are the instructions different for the ipod interface? Is that the reason some are working and others are not? Does it depend on which instructions were used ( nav of ipod)? I have a nav harness and will be installing later this week. I am not installing ipod.  Would appreciate some feedback on this before I start. Thanks.

I installed the NIM first, then the Ipod harness. They both use the same space in the 35 pin connection, I would install the NIM first and then the Ipod and see if you get the commands.  Remember that it only works with HD Roadtech zumo 660/665. Now if you dont get it to work I would reverse pins 19 to 31 and 31 to 19. I can't say why HD told me to reverse those to wires but it worked after that. I used it this weekend and it worked in all modes. I ordered the extension for the Ipod to put it in my saddle bag so I have to go back in the fairing. HD is going to amend the I sheet for the NIM harness.

I installed the iPod interface first. Since the directions are virtually identical, I'd recommend using the iPod instructions. The only difference between the 2 installed correctly is which connector you plug the module into. The iPod and nav module connect to different connectors on the cable. The cable is identical on both kits. My kits worked first time with it installed that way (when I used a road tech)

Since some people have had no problem and some have, I was wondering what color wires you finaly put into 19 and into 31 to get to work on your unit. Are the instructions for those two wires different for the nav and the ipod? I have the nav harness and instructions. What colors are on your ipod instructions for those two holes?

This thread from another forum with posts from "ferromet" and his installation on an '09 CVO Ultra may be helpful, especially as it relates to the wiring in pin-outs 19 and 31 (as previously posted, the instructions from kit were wrong (at least in his application) and he reversed them per the SESG2 wiring diagram--see especially posts 31 and 66 (the wiring changes and explanation, including wire colors):

Hope this helps.

I have been playing with this NIM for the past 4 hours. I have hooked up like instructions say, and have tried reversing pin 19 with 31. Neither will work properly.  My unit is a brand new 660 Roadtech from Chicago H.D. and has the latest 4.0 software. I am installing it on a 2010 SEUC that obviously has all the bells and whistles on the Harmon Kardon. I am an auto tech by trade so hooking this up is a cake walk for me, BUT IT JUST DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. On aux, I can get voice commands, but it does not mute or give voice commands when on AM,FM, XM, or CD. Am I just stupid or has anyone else failed to get this thing to work. I see some have had success with reversing the wires on 19 and 31, but I have tried that 4 times, and ALL pins are proper and all wires are correct. Just about to dissconnect and use it like I did my old 550 Zumo, where it only gave voice prompts on aux. Any help would be very much appreciated.  Thanks

;D not to laugh but that my exact post a week or so ago.

First make sure the pins are seated because if it's not seat correctly, when you restall the 35 pin conntector they my not seat. Make sure you have satilite reception, and gave the GPS a distention. Also check that the speaker rocker is lite.

My reply was to the query about the wire colors involved in the 19 and 31 pin-out reversal.  I didn't see wire colors mentioned previously.

Glad to see you and ferremet (from the hdforums.com thread) both reached a solution though your "fix" came from talking with HD and his came from seeing the SESG2 wiring diagram for the HK/ipod interface.

Trey, what do you mean by saying  make sure speaker rocker is lite?
