I think they should be. Granted,  we all love our CVO's or whatever we are riding. But in this tough economy, where jobs are harder and harder to keep, our passions are still just a luxury. No one wants to take a beating on these bikes like we have seen in the last  year or so and that effects our going out and spending another 30-40 thousand on a new one. I'm riding a 2004 thats going to be 7 years old. I'm really surprised at myself for not wanting a new one. So like many others I am hanging on to the one I have with almost 60 thousand miles on it. So in the long run, I really can't see dealers asking any more than MSRP and they should smile when they have a sale on such a "luxury" product.   Just a thought of mine for the day,,,,

 The HD dealers SHOULD be happy to get MSRP. There isn't a car dealer out there that wouldn't be happy to get MSRP for one of their cars.

Remember the days when we were told.. "oh, we can't keep those in stock,  they are sold months before we ever see one"?  I think those days are gone for quite sometime. Mr. Rossmeyer wouldn't know what hit him if he saw what was going on now with new and re-sales. I don't think finding a new CVO at MSRP will be such a chore like it used to be.  And no matter what, the maunufacturer suggersts an MSRP for a reason.  That should be a starting point for negotiating, not at all for going up.

One has to wonder if "no deposit on it yet" will become a reality for the next few years. A local long time Canadian HD dealer who just got back from the dealer show, mentioned that the American dealers were quite pessimistic about sales projections for next couple of years.        

The black/crimson SESG at High Country HD in Denver/Boulder was sold before it hit the floor.

The HD dealers SHOULD be happy to get MSRP. There isn't a car dealer out there that wouldn't be happy to get MSRP for one of their cars. 

My local dealer would be happy to get a few people with good credit!!! One of the salesman couple months ago said he had 21 credit apps and only about 3 or 4 were good...

It needs to be the right deal since it is a bit of a ride for me.......My credit is perfect.....
