HD cooling fan
« on: July 31, 2010, 11:33:45 AM »

Got the HD fan to add some extra air to the beast, has anyone had any issues with air blowing back on your left leg when this thing cuts on? It's pretty uncomfortable. I'm thinking about disconnecting the darn thing. So far this year the hottest I have gotten a reading on the oil was 257, this was due to be stuck in city traffic in Lancaster Pa. normally I am around 220 to 235.

It cooks my right leg on the 05. I just let the etm control the heat on the 2010.

I've had this fan on 2 different Ultras. Both bikes I reversed polarity, causing the fan to run backwards. This made the fan pull heat away from the motor and away from me. Not sure if it helped cool the engine or not, but it worked great for keeping heat off me when stopped. I love it. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose. Good luck.

With my lower farings off for the summer,When the fan does kick on it isn't too bad.

I have the HD Fan and it works well for me.
I am sure the position of your leg and the proximity
to the head makes a difference. But again when its
hot its hot. Better to have it and not need it it than
to need it and not have it.
