CVO glide what pipes, ecm, air cleaner?
« on: March 01, 2006, 02:41:28 PM »

I am new to the board and looking for some opinions or real world experience with any aftermarket parts for a new CVO electra glide.  I am asking for a friend who is new to harley's (changed from a jap cruiser) and I am an evo guy so I don't know much about the FI or the CVO stuff.  He is looking at the rinehart true duals, arlen ness big sucker and the power commander.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  He just got it broke in and looking to spend more money LOL.

thanks in advance

If he's pretty much set on that combination...the Freedom Cycles true duals..which are as close to rineharts as one can get....Along with their pre-programmed pcIII is the way to go..  Just bolt on the exhaust..plug in the power commander and go ride.  Quite a few guys here running this set up and are very happy with the results.

'er Guys,

Don't forget a key here is he'll want to install a SE Breather kit, Big Sucker or something similiar.

I believe the Freedom package includes the SE air cleaner, as well as the PCIII and the pipes.

It does include the SE air mit, but they will remove it if requested. There shouldn't be much if any difference in the map with it compared to the Ness kit.

If you are thinking of Freedoms you may want to contact them quickly as they are almost out of stock.

I have two second that or third that,I have the Rineharts do like them but after listening to H-D Dudes and seeing how they fit there lower and you won't hit them with your foot. I have the RT and think it's great the key is to find a GOOD TUNER which ever you decide.

Burnout,
The packages your friend is thinking about and the ones others have listed are all good. One thing I might add is will your friend be doing the install or having someone else install it (shop/dealer)? When I was deciding on which way to go with my upgrades I talked to the mechanic that was going to do my install and asked them what they suggested. You will find they more then likely they will suggest what they are more comfortable/familiar with installing and tuning. For that reason I went with what he suggested and got the SERT/Rinehart

Freedom pipes, hands down, I got'em and I love'em. Lots of compliments on sound and looks too!

Forgot to add the most important part. The performance is EXCELLENT! I could not believe the difference in performance from stock.
