It was good to get home. I missed both my wife and my dog. You'll never get an honest answer as to which I missed the most. Just kidding, dear!!

Great trip for sure.  Thanks for the pics.  You sure were able to travel cheaply.  But beware the motels in the northeast (and Canada if you should go there) are much more expensive.  I've traveled the northeast before but on our trip to Nova Scotia last month I found motel costs in the northeast higher than I recall.  I thought we were in a recession and business would be soft for those in the hospitality industries.  Apparently not there.

Can you give us a breakdown of the route?  You could have picked me up on your way south.

That's just awsome.  Ten other buddies and I are planning a trip next year.  7 to 10 days on the bikes and I can't wait.  Just the guys and no wives!!

Roadking--what kind of breakdown would you like. The map in on the first page and on page two there is an enlarged map. I can give you the towns I went through if you like. Let me know.

Yep, the towns would be great if it's not to much work.  Otherwise I'll just ck. out the map.  Thanks

Long list but here you go:  Des Moines-Souix City-Omaha-Kansas City.  Hwy 71 to LA via Ft Smith AR and Texarkana, Rodessa LA, Atlanta TX-Paris-Whitchita Falls-Amarillo TX.  Hwy 64 across New Mexico (the most beautifull road I've been on, ever)-Cimarron-Taos-Farmington-Kayenta, AZ. North to Mexican Hat-Hanksville-Salina and Hwy 50 to Reno, via Ely (nice cascino hotel downtown). Layover day in Reno and toured Lake Tahoe. North to Susanville CA through Lassen Natl. Forest to Mt Shasta (beautiful ride) to Eugene OR. Turn right on 126 to Redmond OR-John Day-Walla Walla WA-Lewiston ID-McCall ID (to see friends)-Lolo and Missoula-Livingston MT. To Yellowstone and Red Lodge, then 94 to Baker MT and Hwy 12 through N and S Dakota-Aberdeen to Rochester (home).
On most of the two lane roads I was the only vehicle, so it was very enjoyable. Could go any speed I wanted and could pull over (usually stay right on the road) whenever I wanted.
