Local dealer called last Thursday and told me the same thing.  He said that it would be Sept. before they get any of the CVO bikes.
Only problem is, I have had more time to think about trading... and I'm thinking I will just hang on to my 08, for awhile anyway.  Having a health issue and don't know all the details yet.  Have at least one surgery coming up real quick and possibly another depending on what they find, so probably better wait and see where I am with that anyway.

May think about it again in late spring.  The 11's should have enough time on the road by then to see if they will have the same old problems or if they will have their own unique issues.  And by waiting, maybe I can make a little better deal just before the 12's make their debut  :nixweiss:

...Having a health issue and don't know all the details yet...

You know, I've had this thread on my mind all day today. I read it again at work earlier today and it had me thinking about different things in life. It amazes me how we sometimes take life for granted and just move on with our daily "problems" and trudge through. This thread started off announcing that the CVO's were going to be delayed in delivery. Then we start talking about the RUSE and, all of a sudden, LRebel drops a bombshell on us about his health issue. Without missing a beat, we express our concerns and then resume talking about the bikes again. And I don't mean that in a negative or bad sense.
What really amazes me most though is how we come together, especially in a time of need, and touch and affect one another's lives. The little things that you may do or say to someone during the course of the day may not have an impact on your life, but the may have  a revelation on someone else's. We all came here to share our love of CVO's but have gained much more than that. We've gained friendships, business connections, and even marriages. I'm worrying about little stuff: whether or not to buy a new bike, a new briefcase, and another car. My problems are small and insignificant compared to our brother who has to go do battle with a disease.
I was with a friend this afternoon when the police came to tell him his son has just overdosed. He was immediately escorted to the morgue.
I will be there for him. Console him. Pray with him. Offer help. But in the end, that's all I can do.
I'm sure LRebel didn't want sympathy when he posted, otherwise this would be in the "rider down" section. No, I believe our brother needed to get it off his chest with friends he cares about and knew we would understand.
RIP Bentley. LRebel, recover quickly and thoroughly. And may we all remember life is a precious gift and God bless us for what we do have.

Thanks!

It's possibly thyroid cancer.  I have two tumors on my thyroid gland.  I had malignant lymphoma 24 years ago and they are telling me that the radiation therapy I had back then may have caused this.

I will have a surgical biopsy as soon as they get it scheduled.  If they determine it is malignant, they will do a second surgery to remove my thyroid gland and then treatment(s).

Either way, I don't intend to let this slow me down very long  ;)

Just saw this.  Don't forget I'm close.  At least close enough.  If you need a hand with anything during or while screwing with recovery...  well, I started to say give a shout.  But since that might be tough for a bit call quietly or drop a message.  Then we'll round up Cobb and anyone else within range and make a ride when your charged up again.

AJ, I love the Jester, but the more I look at the RUSE, the more I like it and want one.  It's been a long time since I rode with a frame mounted fairing, so I'm looking forward to it.  It looks like the MoCo might have gotten the windshield right on this one and with the addition of the wind deflectors under the fairing, that should eliminate most of the errant wind that gets in the fairing.  Fortunately, by keeping the "Cap'n" I'll have the best of both worlds, a fix fairing and a bat-wing bike to ride...

They have one at Smokin HD in Winston Salem, NC . If you want to see one. Sweet looking.

I didn't mean to jack this thread... You guys have confirmed to me AGAIN why I am a biker.  It's a brotherhood that is unexplainable.  No one will ever understand this brotherhood unless they experience it.  It often seems that my biker friends are much closer than my family.

As I mentioned before, I did the cancer thing 24 years ago... and based on what I have been told, this is probably not as bad as what I went through before.  I fully expect to make a FULL and QUICK recovery.  In fact, I don't plan on being off the bike but a few days here and there.  Hope to be back to full-speed this fall.  I have a few bike trips planned... maybe an opportunity or two to meet up and ride with a few of my brothers here  ;)

I sincerely appreciate all the encouragement and welcome all the prayers.  I will keep you guys posted on how things develope.  I have not got the date for the first surgery yet, but should be in the next week or two (I hate this Hurry-Up and Wait stuff).

Now, back to the subject:  I still ain't gonna buy that new RG anytime soon.

Everyone within, say, 250 miles of Harrah, OK needs to set up a schedule for LRebel.  We don't want to take advantage.  But as physical rehabilitation exercise he's going to come around and detail everyone's bike.  If it's a 2011 he'll detail it twice.

This is true.  You just read it on the Internet.

If he comes that far to polish I'll bring a tidy picnic basket.  But you have to supply the beer.  And no cheap swill either.  If it's not at least a buck a can it's not good enough :nervous: !

LRebel,
I had a very large thyroid gland removed several years ago.  Needle biopsy and later testing all negative.  Hope yours turns out well.

Yep, I had two needle biopsies a couple of weeks ago.  They tell me that there a few different types of thyroid cancer and that I don't have the type that can be detected with a needle biopsy.  They did say that from the needle biopsy they could tell that there are "indications" of another type of thyroid cancer.  So, they will be doing a surgical biopsy to determine exactly what we are dealing with.

:D :D :D ;D  I'm thinking that a more effective rehab would be me in a nice comfortable lounger watching you guys detail my scooter.... Yep, I think that would be very beneficial.  I'll ask the doc next week... maybe he can write a prescription  ;)
