Born again rider!

  Hello to all !!!  I have been absent from the cycling world for about 26 years while life happened! As a soon to be MTnestr I have decided to return to the carefree years of my yout....  Back in the day I raced 125 class in HS and rode a Honda V45 Magna on the road til meeting the mother of my headaches...er.....children!  We sold the bike and got busy.....

  Now that I have summed up my life in 4 sentences I would like to say that I have seen the light.... With some help from my local HD dealer (thank God for demo rides) and my wifes uncle (and his kickin Duce) I purchased a 2010 CVO Softail Convertible. Blue and black (looks like DEEP blue/purple to me) used with only 421 miles on it (it had 171 when traded!)  I am completely in lust with this bike!

  So now for the question....thanks for bearing with me  ;D  A buddy at work recommends I get the service manuals for the bike. Being an ole cage gearhead I have manuals for the cars in my life so this makes sense even though I purchased the lifetime service contract from the dealer. My HD dealer says I should get the Softail manual and also the FLSTSE supplement. The supplement is a no brainer but is the softail manual the one I need? Seems I saw a video for the FLSTSE which says it was based on another HD platform...

Usually the manuals contain more than just one model. When I got my manual for my SEUC it had all the Touring models. So I would say yes, you need the general Softail manual and insert.

Since your thread was more of an introduction I moved it to our introductory board.... regarding the manuals if you are planning on working on your bike or just want to know more about it get all the associated manuals that are available.
