also depends on how much $$$ you want to spend. I have the 940's as well, and are good enough for what they cost me. I'm sure there are better, but I'm not willing to spend $800.00 for something that's not a night and day difference.

I am having same issue as originator of this string. I am looking to not have my shocks bottom out when I hit a large bump or pothole that is 4 inches deep. When this happened, I was riding two up with 50 pounds pressure in the stock air shocks and it bottomed out like no bodies business. Not real pleasant for me or the back seat driver. I have a 2009 CUSE4, am the original owner and have only 1300 miles as I was not able to ride for quite a while after I bought the bike in 2009. Don't recall my 05 SEEG having this issue. Any suggestions? Thanks

Contact Works Shocks at sales@worksperformance.com for info.

For baggers:

1) Steel Trackers w/Adjustable Rate Spring (ARS) option. 12, 12.5 or 13 inch lengths. $555/pair less a 10% HOG or CVO Forum Member Discount.

2) Air Trackers: Oil damped shocks with a nitrogen gas charge and pressure adjustable air springs.  12 or 13 inch lengths. $499/pair less a 10% HOG or CVO Forum Member Discount.

They come with a ride quality warranty and are built for your weight requirements. Also rebuildable.

They also have drop in gas/oil damped fork cartridges @ $369 less a 10% HOG or CVO/ Forum Member Discount.

Keep in mind that longer shocks give you more suspension travel and increased ride quality.

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate the suggestions. One thing I forgot to mention was that the HD dealer service manager said the stock shocks on the 2009 CUSE4 are "profile" shocks which supposedly only have three inches of travel before they bottom out. So, he asked how deep was the hole I ran over and I told him I thought maybe four inches or possibly deeper. He said then it's no surprise they bottomed out and unless I am leaking shock fluid, it's not a problem and they would not replace them. For me, bottoming out shocks on an 850+ pound touring bike IS a problem, especially if the wife is behind me and the shocks had the right amount of air in them. :(

Progressive 440HD.  Works for me. Just put 11,000 miles on them and they fixed the bottom out and bouncy ride of the air shocks.

:orange: I got Suspension Technology's on the rear from HD Dude.  And Traxxion AK's on the front from Raceworx (Jim Cambora Alvarado TX).  And I gotta say this setup is far more superior than any HD Product the MOCO could come up with!  Bike handles like a dream on curves and the roads!  :orange:

Good shocks, either way. Just depends what you're looking for and willing to pay!
