lost com port for tts

some how i lost my tts com port , did  tts upgrades  and its still gone???  i have windows 7 how do i get the driver back??

Did you go into device manager and look what com ports are available?? The go into TTS and try each one until it connects.

i did  and in windows 7  it doesnt show any com ports like vista and 98

I'm guessing you are using a machine that still has a serial port so you are using the serial cable for the TTS. You may need to try a Serial to USB adapter and plug into a USB port. The adapter will create a virtual comm port on the laptop which may solve your problem.

Check the TTS help file or tuning guide, it has instructions for configuring the USB COM port for XP/Vista and Win7.  The USB serial COM port will not show in device manager unless it is plugged in and the drivers are installed. 

If you are using the TTS USB adapter, Windows should automatically find the drivers when it is plugged in if you have an internet connection.  May take a few minutes, tho...  Also, you can install the drivers from the TTS USB adapter from the CD that comes with the kit.

the braided cable went bad, bought a new one at staples  works great,  thanks
