Riding Utah
« on: August 20, 2010, 11:24:12 AM »

Wow
Just returned from a 7 state, 12 day 8000km ride to Vegas/Arizona and had the pleasure of riding through the canyons of southern Utah, from Zion, to Moab and all in between. All I can say is wow. It is easily some of the most spectacular riding I have ever done...You locals have a beautiful state......... now only if you can work on that beer thing :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

Working on that......... As I was leaving Moab's  Arches Park my camera hit the pavement at about 30mph. Pieces went every which way. After 20 minutes we found the SD card but when I returned home it is dead. Computers  will not recognize it. I have a email into the card maker to see if I can send it in to them....keeping my fingers crossed as about 300 pix from the trip are on it.

Not impressed :confused5: :confused5: :confused5: and it made me chuckle when you posted this.

Cheers

Some computers will not recognize anything more than a 2GB card unless you link the camera through the usb port.  Promaster Digital has a product that will act as a "mass strorage device" that you can insert your card into and retrieve your pics. I had to buy one on my Sturgis trip cause I forgot my usb cable for the camera.  Doc

You da man Dave . Wicked riding "eh"
I found a company that thinks the pix can be retrieved......$300USD later. They think that the shock opened up a solder joint.  Expensive lesson. I am a photographer by trade and you think I would know better. :confused5: :confused5: :confused5:  Use the strap.

I have to agree with ya Rob, after riding across the country these past 3 weeks I found Utah to be the most scenic with great roads.  I don't want to thread jack but...here is my bike parked atop an overlook off of Hwy 95 over Lake Powell.
