Headlight trim ring - not HD?
« on: March 06, 2006, 06:18:05 PM »

Ok... I've diligently done searches on the site to find an alternative for this trim ring. I've heard there is another that is made that looks just like it but it REPLACES the existing stock trim ring instead of slipping over it. MY OCD is making me break out in a rash from looking at that %^&**&$##%$!!! gap on the HD integrated visor trim ring. If you know of a trim ring like I described, please post. Thanks!  :'(

SEULTRA,

Did you loosen up the oem trim ring slightly before installing the new one? If you do this the new one should slide in behind the oem ring. Then really crank on the new screw, you should get a tighter fit with no gap. This worked for me.

Good Luck,

Grover

Yeah, I did loosen up the stock one a bit and fu**ed with it for over an hour, pulled it off and tried again... to no avail. It's gotten to the point where the screw head is close to stripping out . Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe you just have more patience than I do or are a better wrench.

Heyyyyyy...... that looks like a good possibility! Maybe I'll just order it and see how it fits and looks. Hell, for $50 maybe I'll stop itching and scratching from the rash!  [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif]

Yeah, go ahead and get that Jay. If it's an improvement then maybe I'll pick one up. If not we'll keep looking for another one you can try! You're a great teacher!  ;D ;D

Sorry, private joke between Jay and I.

You're right... I can't see it when I'm riding (and I rode today). I guess I just hate having a POS on such a cool looking scoot (if I do say so myself... and I do)

Heh, that looks good to me. It can be seen (even with bags on), and I don't think that picture was taken from a "gutter". :D
