New or not?
« on: August 27, 2010, 09:37:39 PM »

I love my 2005 SEEG, (the pickle) but the wife is really wanting me to get a new scoot.  Iv'e had multiple bikes before and don't want to go that route again. She's got her eye on a new CVO Ultra and I'm the one thats saying no.  Is there something wrong here?

Get the new one and keep the old. Both are great bikes.

Ummm... yea... in most cases convincing the "better half" is the majority of the obstacle in getting a new bike and it seems like you've got that battle won already. ;D

BTW.... Welcome to the site..... when you get a chance you should go to this board - New Member Introduction and start a thread to introduce yourself.

You are probably the problem or crazy. The wife tells you to buy a new bike and you say "NO." Man, I wish I had one like that. :nixweiss:

There's still nothing to beat the looks of the SEEGs.  They're also more reliable than what has come since.  My totally unbiased opinion is... well.....  you should probably do as she says even if it's a dumb idea :P .

What a great wife!

What a dilemma?

You love your SEEG.

You love your wife.

No sense in upsetting your wife.

No sense in getting rid of a beautiful bike.

Would you get rid of your wife?  Of course not!

So why get rid of your bike?

I had the same problem a few years ago.

Now I have a '08 Duracell, which I absolutely love.

And still have my '05 SEEG, which I also love.

I know what you're thinking, and you're right...

I don't ride the '05 nearly enough, but everytime I do I realize why I can't get rid of it.

I have removed the detachable Tour Pak on the '05 for that sporty look.

And simply use the SEUC when I need the extra luggage space.

It's wonderful to have the choice when I go to the garage and if you can swing it, I suggest you'll enjoy having a choice as well.

Once it's gone, it's gone forever!

Naturally you want to please your wife, so buy the SEUC.

Please yourself as well and keep the SEEG.

There.  Problem solved.

WTF are you waiting for man! +agree get the new bike and keep the old one. Prices are down anyway, you will have a hard time getting a good price for it on a trade in or selling outright. May as well just enjoy them both.

Sorry to hear what she is saying. The reason I say that is mine told me to get a new bike and I did Black cvo.  But then this is what I heard I want the 2011 street glide cvo and she got it. Now have 2.  You never know what there plan is.   :orange:

I also have an '05 and I say...save your money!  Keep what you have.  Many feel that the '05's are still the best CVO yet.  Besides, in this economy, you probably won't get anywhere near what you should for yours...and the dealer is going to steal it if you trade it in.  The only way I would buy a new one is if you can pay cash for it.  I definitely would not go into any debt right now.
