I'm installing the Hertz 6.5 HCX 165 speakers I ordered from Biketronics with their adaptor kit for the batwing fairing.
Will it make a difference going from a 1ohm to a 3ohm speaker?

I have had no ill effects in making this mod. TIF2 would be one of the guys to ask this question to

I'm just a rider.

Heck I got a buddy trying to talk me into selling this scoot to him. I still haven't fallen in love with the fairing.

Just finished the Hertz speaker install. Thanks for the info Jeff. Hadn't heard of these till I read your thread. Bill @ Biketronics is awesome. The install was pretty easy. The lowers needed a little persuasion though. The grills didn't want to fit very easy so I used a small rubber mallet and gently tapped them on the rest of the way. The same with getting them back into the the lower fairings. Just lined up the holes, started the screws, gave the speakers a few little taps then tightened the rest of the way. And as Jeff said make sure Bill sends the wiring adapters for each speaker that you change. They all have the wrong connectors. These speakers sound so much better than the ones from the factory. The quality is night and day. They are a little less efficient so you do need to turn them up about 2 bars higher to get the same volume out of them, but there is way more sound. As for the factory tweets, they will be too loud with the new install so Bill suggested that I go to Radio Shack and pick up a pair of 1 ohm resisters and put them inline. Again an easy install. Now the speakers are at about the same level. So I gave them a test run up to 100 mph. At 3/4 volume with the Automatic Volume Control set at the 2nd bar the system sounds great!! Thanks again for the info Jeff.  :2vrolijk_21:

That was (is) the plan. I can afford to buy all the Harleys I want to ride whenever I want to. The family has to pitch in and help.  :D

Every so often things just work out the right way!  Speaking about that, I need to make a trip to his house and take the FXR for a little spin!  ;D

The mod bug hit again.  I really like this scooter but felt she was incomplete.  The all black lowers seemed to mess up the flow of the paint so I added a little color.

I had the crimson blood strip flow around and under the speaker box to mimic the flow of the saddlebags

She's still my 3rd favorite, but the difference between em is real narrow.
