POWER LOCK AND SECURITY ARMING ON 2011
« on: August 29, 2010, 08:22:15 PM »

Has anyone looked at or figured out if we can retro that new system on our older bikes?

I have not seen an '11 yet so can someone explain how this works?  I mean does it physically move the ignition switch into the left most locked position?  Wonder what this entails whenever one need to remove the ignition switch.

Someone with a black 10 or new 11 bike will have to chime in here but I believe you still have to manually twist the ignition knob.  The electric is for the locking of the ignition key cylinder only.

I was under the impression that the power locking feature was for the fork lock, not the actual ignition switch. :nixweiss:  I guess we really do need someone who has one to chime in on exactly what it controls.

It will also arm and disarm on proximity instead of pushing a button. Not sure on the ignition.

I have an secu BLK ----You have to put the ignition knob in the counter clockwise position.....when you press the FOB  it locks the knob in place along with the saddle bags and tour pak.

Has anyone rewired it so the lights blink when the system is armed - disarmed? or is therea way to set this up? My buddies "Gold THing" does that and it would be nice if the 09 CVO Ultra did that too.

In the owner's manual there is the set up to make it chirp when arming or disarming. I discovered it accidently when mine started chirping. I read where I changed the settings by accident. Look under security(alarm) settings.

After re reading this, I meant to say when you lock and unlock the bags, Is there a way to make it blink or chirp? I do get the chirps when the system arms the alarm automatically but need to be standing right next to it to hear if the bags actually lock or unlock. Kinda silly to have a remote with no audible or visual confirmation for the locks.
