I did a spark spark data run because i had lots of part throttle pinging, 2000-- 3000 rpm 10 -20 %t hrottle (Steve Cole at tts really helped me to read and correct) thanks Steve!, but all the pinging was in the rear cylinder, is there a way just to increase fuel to adjust the rear cylinder, i removed alot of timing on rear cylinder 3-4 degrees on many rpm and kpa settings and none in the front which leaves me a little uncomfortable.(many pink lines on datamaster recorder) I know rear gets hotter bike runs great other than that,
I guess you COULD play with the rear. IMO you should check everything else first. Is your adapt. spark control on? At what values? etc etc If you remove too much timing in the rear, it runs hotter, more susceptible to knock, and the ecm removes MORE spark.........vicious circle.
You could change fuel to the rear, but, that may not be the answer.
In my case, I have lots of timing both front and rear, rear is lagging behind front for just that reason (ping), I did not change the fuel much front to rear and the bike seems to like that.
I suggest after you eliminate everything else, give Steve a call (either one) and see what they say.
Got access to a dyno?
