Spiced Rum Inner Fairing with new bars?
« on: September 07, 2010, 11:15:27 AM »

Now I know that I'd made out that my mods would have to be cut short since the irresponsible purchase of the headwinds lamp and bezel kit and since i felt sorry for HDNIK the new chrome rotors are on order, but please the parts are ready to ship from the US and it's now or never.  Those MBB are just calling to me and the spiced rum inner fairing may just take this bike to the max.

Over to you.  HDNIK, DABB, WHEELSNKEELS NO VOTE FOR YOU THREE    :bananarock:

I plan to have my inner painted this winter (Teq Sunrise).  I am really, REALLY, thinking of the MBB's also.

Not sure what all is involved with doing the swap, longer lines and wiring I'm sure, but not sure that I have all the tools to do it myself.

I think the painted inner on the spiced is overkill of the color. I like the contrast of the black looking from the seat anyway. IMHO

Black contrast adds to the look. I just don't get MB on a fairing bike.  IMHO.  Your taste in color for an SESG is impeccable.

Personally, I think all the CVO baggers should have come with painted inner fairings......that's part of the custom look.  All the reguar model of baggers have the basic black inner fairing.

Likewise, apes of any size do not belong on a bike with a fairing.  The whole design of the fairing is to protect the hands and arms from the cold, rain, etc. so to change from that is kind of an oxy-moron.

Agree with the comments made especially JCZ who is right IMO.

I dislike the bars above the fairing and reason why the MBB are 8" which is similar to the tall boy bar with the custom look and no change in wires which seems a real waste of money to me.

The inner fairing may or may not look right and guess we wont know until it's done and money or time is spent.  The fact is that had HD painted the inner fairing none of us would agree to a change to black.

Parts have shipped and will be with me next week so fingers crossed I've not made a bad decision.

Craig: purchased the inner fairing from a CVO vendor J.Volanski who has proven to be A1

DABB:  I think you sneaked a vote anyway?

Can you provide info for this vendor?  I was thinking that I would need to have a side cover sent with the inner to match the paint from....

Mixed response?  Well, I've made-up my mind finally and all parts will be here in 10 days.  Dealer's got me a date for the end of September and will update shortly.

Will post pics of parts once the inner and bars arrive.

Cheers

I think you should leave it alone...

That comes easy from a man with a painted inner fairing. :huepfenlol2:

Come on Stu......pull the trigger......then you can go through all these decisions with the rest of us. :2vrolijk_21:
