Not the ignition switch itself (i.e., not the electrical switch down below).  But the knob and shaft assembly on top; where the key goes in.

The 05 is sitting right now with the switch in the fork locked position, the key in the locked position and the key won't budge.  Never had this happen on one of these locks before.

Have to break something?  Is there a trick?  Insights are appreciated.

Upon further review:

Key is not stuck in the locked position.  With a little aggressive jiggling (Twolane and aggressive jiggling is not a picture everyone wanted in their head is it?) the key will in fact turn 360 degrees.  Either way.  Doesn't accomplish anything as the switch is still locked but the key will move. So the tumbler is screwed.

If anyone knows a trick to defeat these lock assemblies let me know.  If not I'll defeat it with a small high speed cutting wheel.  Before that will of course try more aggressive jiggling.

Only need to get this (^*^%ing thing to move once.

My well established patience being what it is the switch is now apart.  Key was spinning happily; but doing absolutely nothing.  Pulled the same part out of the Road Glide to see what depths were and began mangling cutting.  Heavy blankets over the tank and over the inner fairing covering everything but the switch itself (as much as I could).

Split it with a high speed rotary cutter as far down as seemed safe.  Ended up just touching (but not hurting) the switch shaft above the nut.  Stuck a big screw driver in the cut and twisted to spread it apart more.  Somewhere along the way the thing turned.

Turned it all the way around to the accessory position and took another cut it at.  After that was able to break a hunk completely away.  After that was able to remove the housing and shaft from the switch.  So it's as good as it can be until a new part gets here (already ordered from Zanottis).  

Just for grins stuck the one from the Road Glide in and all works fine.  So no paint touched and no other damage done.  Just a lock tumbler that broke internally.  That would have been a very annoying failure away from home.

Watched an alarm company demonstration once where they just twisted the whole top off an FLH ignition switch.  Broke the guts of the switch but made it accessible for theft.  Don't have to be as careful when your only goad is hauling ass.

Yes.  All the keyed pieces can be ordered keyed to match.  You'll have to supply your bike's key code when you place the order. 

I don't like to carry any more keys than I must.  So have ordered and installed keyed to match locks for all the locations on the old SERG to match the SEEG.  All the keyed locations on the SERK project have also been ordered with the same key code.  So one key fits everything.  Only ever have to grab one bike key fob to head out on anything.

Most accurate answer I can give is I don't think so.  Have to say that because if you stick the key in and it works it's not something one would pay a lot of attention to.  I never noticed feeling anything unusual.  Just went to use it once and it spun inside of itself.
