TTS on non O2 sensor bike
« on: September 11, 2010, 09:58:32 AM »

I have the mastertune arriving soon and am wondering Will the v-tune work with my '07 vrod with-out o2 sensors?
can I use aftermarket(wide-band) sensors with the V-Tune or must the bike been originally equipped with the sensors?

To use the vtune the bike needs the stock O2 sensors.   The ecm can be updated to a later map and the sensors added. There is complete instructions on how to do this in the mastertune manual. I did this on my 05 and after tuning the bike it has never ran better.

2005 and newer ECMs can already manage the task.  04 and older ECMs have significantly less internal memory and processing capability so no software change could ever make them up to the task.  Older bikes could do an ECM swap and also make the change though.

You'll already have the instructions and a full parts list when you get your TTS package.  It is Appendix A in the Master Tune manual.  The instructions to complete the addition on your bike are illustrated there, it's only two pages and you'll have a parts list.
