How to use stock pipes ?
« on: September 14, 2010, 04:00:01 PM »

All

Am not mechanically minded at all , but appreciate any insight on how to keep stock exhaust , i think its best system I ever seen on a harley ,and Ive changed all mine to date

I want a louder pipe ( had true dual rrh's on SERK , with cat gone and SERT , it was great but rattled the hell on the frame ) but more bark than yap.
Looking to get heat down dramatically
Performance if I get some inmprovenment so be it if not no biggy

Any ideas ?

Thanks all appreciate any insights

Fullsac headpipe looks just like stock pipe and fullsac cores in the stock mufflers. Or you could cut the stock headpipe and chisel out the cat and re-weld the pipe--easier to buy the fullsac part.

I think the majority of us Screamin Eagle Street Glide owners have just gone with Fullsac baffles and head pipe.

It keeps the beauty of the stock exhaust, increases the sound a bit to sound like a Harley without being obnoxious and we can still hear the stereo.  But the best part is it's the least expensive way to go! :2vrolijk_21:

Vance and Hines Power Duals with the Vance and Hines 4" Basic Slippons.  Great sound, looks and performance.  And use the stock pipes as either plant holders or Ebay fodder.   :2vrolijk_21:

The Fullsac headpipe has no cat in it.....You can order the muffler baffles and replace them yourself, or send Fullsac your mufflers and they will replace the baffles for you. Getting the old ones out is not hard, but you do have to be careful when grinding out the welds that hold the factory baffles in.

As for the tuner, I got a TTS from Fullsac as well and he sent me the map that was really close to perfect on my bike. Give Steve a call and talk to him. Some people may say you can get away without a tuner, but I found the bike ran better and cooler after replacing the factory map.

Try www.Americanccustom.com they have multiple baffle sizes and are fairly inexpensive.
