Thanks for the neat photos, brings back fond memories. My wifes deceased mother and father rode there from Dayton,Ohio with a few friends in the 50"s on their 1946 Knucklehead that had straight pipes, they always talked about it.

We rode up to the summit of Pikes Peak years ago. Made the mistake of going up late in the day after the motorhomes and all other traffic chewed up the gravel and made it loose and sloppy. I'm glad I did it once, but have vowed to never do it again. Been there, done that kind of deal.  Too many other good roads to ride in Colorado.  ;D
