Dear Zumo 665 Owners,
I have been thinking about buying a 665, but need a few answers before answers I commit.
1. How does the XM work?
       Does the audio feed through the speakers of the vehicle or just the speaker in the back of the unit?
2. Are there any other idiosyncrasies that you don't like about the 665.
3. How well does the weather work?
4. How much does it cost per month to get all the bells and whistles?

XM works great, but I have my GMX 40 antenna mounted outside of the fairing on the handlebars (so I can move it from bike to bike) so I don’t know what kind of reception you get underneath the fairing. Maybe some zumo 550 owners can respond to that.

The XM audio works in aux mode on the HD radio when you use a male to male stereo plug from the zumo harness inside the fairing to the aux out on the HD radio. I use a 90 degree jack on the radio end and you hardly notice it. It stays there permanently.

Overall the zumo 665 works well. I upgraded from the 660 and glad I did. The screen is hard to see if there is any direct sunlight on it.

The NavWeather is a great feature. Gives you real time weather radar and text alerts and has helped me avoid certain roads due to weather and convinced me to pull over and wait 15 minutes to miss a cell as it passes. Gives you the big picture when you see nothing but dark clouds ahead and don’t know if it’s 20 mile front or you’ll be riding in rain all day. There is a continuous 20 minute loop on the radar so you can see the direction of cells and their intensity as they build up or diminish in strength.

XM is around $12 per month and NavWeather is an additional $4 per month. You can buy down the price if you commit to longer time periods on the XM, but not NavWeather.

Saw your pictures in another post; have a few questions:

1.) How do you plug/unplug the "puck" to move it to another bike/vehicle? Another wire that just stays there?
2.) Is the aux input on the front still functional then?
3.) What brand of mounts are you using?
