I got this new fandangle phone now and will be taking pictures as the process goes along. I hope the street glide nation will welcome me in to there group when I'm done.

I talked to Sid the other day and got some great info on the transformation. Very nice guy, thanks for hooking me up with him. Handlebars off a 2010 CVO street glide are on the way and shopping for the fairing and brackets now. Looking for some ideas on a paint scheme for the fairing. Any ideas? I am looking forward to seeing the whole process come together.

Yea, Sid is a great guy.  He's got a couple hot rods, too.  I knew he'd help where he could......glad he was able to help. :2vrolijk_21:

Looking forward to the pics of the transition.

You might not get rid of all the buffeting.

Looks nice but is not a converted SERG, just a regular Streetglide with some custom paint (but gives an idea of what a converted SERG would look like).  Nice find.

Why???
Would it not be better to just trade for an SG?  Resale would be better and less of a pain.

I have alot of upgrades on my RG. CB,nav, com, lowers,xm,catless, tts, hog speakers, ect. And the dealer never give up crap for a trade in. And my bike has proven to be great.(knock on wood) And the transformation is about 1K. I can sell my RG fairing (stuff) and probably come close to breaking even.

No, why??
You have one of the nicest years of RD and its a SERG.
It a model of bike that make you an original
Its the model that is the fastest, best handling.

And you want to make it a Street Glide??  Like everyone else, even the Jap bikes are getting batwings... I just dont get it

Or is this one of those.. just because things??

I rode a street glide last week and the buffeting was alot better. I don't like the looks of the RG with a big windshield. I am 6'2" with a 34" inseam. I sit high in the saddle. I have struggled with buffeting on my RG since I bought it. I would rather have a bike I enjoy riding than something that looks cool with a short windshield. It's like Sid said, if it works for me and makes me happy then go for it.

Why not try the lower wind deflectors that came out in 11?
57780-11 & 57781-11
They are supposed to help with that specifically.
