aftermarket seat
« on: September 21, 2010, 03:38:42 PM »

I don't want to start ranting, so i won't.  But what do you want for $36k!

In need of a good aftermarket seat for an SE ultra, that still has the heat, and is comfortable.  Anyone have any experience with any?

Thanks,

I am using the Corbin dual tour heated seat on my 2010 SE Ultra.  Ordered from Jenni at Tri-County HD near Cinn, Ohio and got 20% off..  Also had one on my 2005 SEEG (dual tour).  I really like the seat as it sits me back and down a little over the stock seat.  I feel like I am sitting in the bike instead of on it.
My passenger doesn't like as it is a firm seat and narrower for the ride portion and passenger pillion.

Seats are about like exhaust and handlebars, not the same for everyone.

C20, I am having my stock seat modified so I can reach the ground a little easier. Things aren't too bad by myself, but with passenger and luggage I need to be closer to the ground. The upholstery guy is local to me and he said he will get me at least 2 inches closer to the ground or more, and retain the seat heater. He is not doing anything to the passenger half of the seat. I believe a made a post about this recently. I will post pictures when I get it back. It goes in next wednesday(Sept. 29 ) and he said I will have it back by the 7th of Oct. Price is $450. including memory foam. I was hoping to get it done for about $300.00. HD sells reduced reach touring seats on page 348 of their 2011 catalogue, but they are not heated. It am sure it costs about $200.00 to have a heating pad and switch etc added to non heated seat, but if you don't care about the heat the HD seat could be an alternative. My bike is a 09SEUC Silver.
