just wish the bags would work with the stock seat. Guess I'll just use it when not doing a long tour ride. :) Sandy

wow big drag,  :(  thanks for the heads up, I guess thats the problem with using non-harley
parts, you dont know if they will function with the rest of your stuff until you drop the coin and find out the hard way.  :-/

This is the H-D tensioner: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448768311&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309098646&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309098646&bmUID=1142640254919&bmLocale=en_US
You also have the option of the Hayden M6 (the original automatic tensioner) and the HB125, which is similar to the Hayden except it uses oil pressure rather than a spring (similar to a hydraulic lifter).

It looks great Sandy! Do you happen to have a pic of how they look from the rear so I can check out the spacing from the fender? I am glad you like the barebacks on there. Someone had mentioned to me that there is some sort of rattle when using them...do you hear any new noises now that you have them? Just curious as I am considering your set up for bags.

If you're doing the inner, you may want to look at adding the chain tensioner while you've got it apart.

No just thinking about doing the Cover not the whole inner. Would be nice to have that, but spent a lot already on exhaust and bags and getting seats that are comfy. Need to save more if I go with the whole inner. :) Sandy

Don't have a pic on hand, but can get you one latter. They fit really nice with the fender, better than anything we looked at. Do stick out a little bit more than I would like at the bottom. But my husband thinks he can heat up the brackets that fit to the back of the bags and bend them a bit so that they will hang straight down. As it is the bottom of the bag looks like it sticks out about 1/2 inch or so. Not too bad looking though. Have you ever noticed how the bags on a Road King Classic stick out at the top? It's something that one might could just get use to and live with. Nothing is always as perfect as one would want.

I did use mostly Harley parts. Then only thing non Harley is the mounting hardware. What goes on the bike is just a small post that the other hooks over, it's no bigger than the bolts that hold the fender strut on, just stick out a little more for the bags to mount. Most any bags that will fit on these Fatboys, Harley or After Market will either need to go with a different seat or change the location of the rear turn signals. You can't keep the stock seat without moving the turn signals and vise versa.

Hey! Sandy [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
That is a great looking set up I like the size of the bags there not oversized for the bike, I'm using the same Corbin seat. It's a great seat. Glad your happy.

 :-?
Sandy, Stock seat, Harley Detachable bags, no turn signal relocation. 8-)

What detachable hardware did you use? Or are those bags bolted on? I did remember you having nice bags and still the stock seat, but you paid around $700 for those and I paid just under $400 for mine.  ;) Really looks nice, but with some of the trips we make the stock seat just doesn't cut it anyway, even with a gel pad and memory foam it's just not that great for a 7 to 8 hour day.  :-[ Sandy

Thanks a bunch Iselbulls. Keeping the stock seat with these bags would have been wonderful, but I tried that seat after fixing it up some on our trip down to Daytona back in Oct. Still not a good seat for tour rides and the Gunfighter seat does look good on the bike. Still gives it a custom look. :) Sandy
