A true story.....

This reminded me of a acquaintance that was heading across country (PA to CA) on a Honda CB450 in the early 80's.

He did not have a clue, but had welded bars to the back of the bike so he could carry all of his chit.

he loaded up on a Friday morning and made it less than 1 mile from his home.

He crashed at the first turn and earned a ride to the Hospital.

He was not seriously hurt, but we still laugh at the ill conceived trip of 3000 miles ending after less than 1.

OK, He was a dope..........

It is actually amazing that someone could look at an overload situation and shrug it off as what the H it seems stable I'll be fine.

This summer on a poker run in Maryland we were at the last post and a guy on a late 80's FXR was buying beer to take back to camp.

He had a BSR, 3 cases of beer and 3 40lb bags of ice.

I just stood there watching this crazy exercise.

he had 2 cases on the tank, BSR held 1 case and 2 bags of ice laying on rear fender (not tied down, just laying there). He then put the last bag over his handle bars...............

The only thing I regret is not getting a picture of that......

Why not attach a coffin to that plywood? It would serve all your needs.

i would think all that weight behind the rear wheel would make the front end a bit light. it`s not the total weight, but where it`s placed that matters.

But it's OK when it's done for beer!
