Its supposed to look that way ::).

They all fog & condensate at one time or another. Depending or your dealer they may warranty it, but it will happen again [smiley=oops.gif]

Mine fogs after I wash it or I've ridden in rain for an extended period of time.  It started last October and I had the dealer check it on my last service.  They said no problem found and gave me the number for H-D Customer Service in case I wanted to call them myself, which I haven't done.

Try the search tool (above) using things like condensation or fogging.  It's come up lots of times before.  A few have mentioned getting a replacement under warranty.  Most of those same few have also reported the new instrument doing the same thing.  There have also been several suggestions for possible fixes that included adding more vent hole, plugging the vent hold it has or other solutions I just don't remember the details of.

The problem seems to be consistent enough for some, and current enough among several, that if it ever shows up on my bike I'll just leave it alone so long as the fogging clears away in relatively short order when it does occur.

All my gauges fog up on the SEEG. Our Heritage speedo never fogs.
I brought this up to service department a few years ago. They told me that water should never come in contact with gauges.WTF! LOL!
I guess it's just the character of these "high-tech" high dollar machines. So I just live with it & bitch about it...wait until your directional lenses start to seep water into them after riding in the rain or washing! Mine got so bad that the amber coloring peeled off the bulbs (nice and safe)!! I had to use silicone to seal the damn things! How's that for $30,000 of technology!!

Try purchasing 1157NA (NA stands for natural amber) bulbs next time you replace them (they not coated w/the plastic that peels), also load up on the dielectric grease on base of bulb. Make the bulb look like Lester "Stick-Um" Hayes hands used to look before they outlawed it in the NFL.

Read more about the bulbs on these two threads:

This situation was brought up at Harley Owner's Group Primary Officer Training last year at the Wisconsin Dells session.  The Motor Company VP for Quality Control was hosting an open forum on quality issues, etc..

He basically said the Motor Company is well aware of the problem, ther is no fix for it at present, and that they are trying to find a solution.

My fuel gauge fog too, so I am anxiously awaiting.

I got the classic reply from a very competent dealer "they all do it, we will be glad to put a new one in, but that one will do it too". The crap we put up with...

Air temp gauge fogs up on my SEUC when it gets wet,   rest of gauges OK so far.

On another note, I have two of the four directional signal lenses that fog when wet also.
