Replacement speakers
« on: October 08, 2010, 12:56:26 PM »

I've been reading back through the old threads and don't see much on speakers that isn't at least a couple of years old.  Lately I've been seeing ads for adapters that allow you to put 6.5 inch speakers on our Electra Glides.  I know the radio in the SEEG is a special radio just for these bikes, and I wonder if anyone has tried any of these bigger speakers on their SEEG?

I've run Hogtunes speakers on my last two bikes, and have had no issues or complaints with them. But before I order another set for my pumpkin I want to make sure there isn't something better out there now.

Thanks

I've got a set of Hawg Wired speakers and amp that I am looking to sell that came off of my 2010 SESG. Sounded good, just took them off before I trade in the bike.

Speakers are DX504-70   http://hawg-wired.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=101
Amp is PSC 1502  http://hawg-wired.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=43

Put them both together and you get the double shot system that goes for over $800. PM me if you are interested.

Why not? Really you do not need the amp. 04's come stock with an amp. Just add the DX speakers and a set of Hawg Wired Tweeters it will sound sweet. Believe me the wife's bike had that set up and it was Great.

Just bolted in the J&M 7.25 on my 05 cherry and I like them. They where easy to install if you take your time and read the directions. The only complaint I have is the grill is black basket weave plastic and not the stock material. Probably could peel the old cloth off and install in fromt of the J&Ms but I think I will just live with it. Found them on the web for $212.00 and included everything you need. Very nice set up for the money.

Eastern performance cycles. They are listed on e-bay. I just check e-bay and they are still listed at 212.00. They
where originally 275.00 when they first came out.

4 ohm speakers work best on our bikes.  I'm not sure if the jM speakers are four ohms. I think you lose some of the volume if they are 8 ohms which they might be.    I bought a pair at Best Buy.  Polk 5-1!4" marine grade and they sound great with a hawg wired plug n play  :2vrolijk_21:

Do they have speakers with tweeters? Or how do you add tweeters?

I went with the ZX series 6.5" speaker that is a huge improvement over the DX (tweeter built-in to speaker).

Contact Jim (HD-Dude).

Cheers!
