Hey Fr8 that's one fine looking scooter you have, kinda reminds me of the one I have in my garage except for the new horn.

Hmm, didn't think about that.  Guess I'll find out when I go down there, I got a good look at his face, as he looked right at me riding thru the median.  Of course he looked like most of the cops around here, uniform on and cell phone stuck to his ear........maybe he was calling 911 for me......

FR8TRN,
So now you've had you're H9 and 886 lights for a while.

Just for clarification, the way you have the spots wired- through the fender tip light connection- the spots are on anytime the ignition is on (run position, not accy).  The spot switch does not turn them off anymore, does it?  Thanks.

Well for those that don't want to go to the HID setup, here is a bit cheaper alternative.

For those looking to do the FR8TRN "spots on continuously, but still controlled by the spot light switch" :P, the orange wire that is in the corner position of the 12 connector called "Fairing Cap Switches" on pg B-29 of the 06 service manual.

If anyone really wants to get their spotlights safer in (perhaps) a different way here's an idea.

Hey TwoLane, I take it you've rigged your spots this way ....  to come on if power fails to the headlight.  Is there any 'down-side' to this?  Wonder why the MOCO doesn't just wire it this way from the git go?   [smiley=nixweiss.gif] spyder

Thanks FR8TRN for you valuable help.....I was reading your article yesterday and I decides to change the bulbs like an alternative to the expensive HID lights.....I went to a local auto parts and I got all of them....So today, first, I cahged the bulbs in the spot lamps and as you said the difference is incredible......the lights is bright and clean.....I will change the bulbs in the headlamp when I take the fairing off and use the connector (without use) as you suggest.....Meanwhile I wil stay with the spots with the new bulbs.......Thanks buddy...Ride Safe [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Following what I started this morning......I installed the H9 in the highbeam spot so when I run normally only the spots goes with the high watts (886's) and if I change to highbeam the spots go off and the highbeamm gets the H9.......of this way I don't consume too many amps...... You don't need to remove the fairing to do the headlight....just pull the light itself...much easier.
