Waking up my new Roadglide Ultra cvo 2011
« on: October 09, 2010, 04:34:53 PM »

I'm looking to improve the performance of FLTRUSE my dealer suggests that I install 10.5 to 1 pistons fat cat 2into one exhaust and a supertuner. They say the cams that come in the engine are fine and that this is all I really need to do to make a reliable practical performance up grade. What do you think?

I am a little surprised that would be a Dealers 1st suggestion on a touring bike.

the limited availability of high octane fuel everywhere will make that pinging noise and increase unreliability.

the dealer should know that they sell a kit, including the tuner, pistons and the 259 cam... u can't use 10.5 pistons with the stock cam, r they crazy?? do they know anything about engine building??

I have the High Compression pistons , 259-e cams ,TTS Mastertune and D & D Fat Cat . Bike hauls ass and i have never had a pinging problem. Or a problem finding 93 octane fuel. I think every gas station in the country sells that???

That combination isn't what his dealer was recommending, they told him to stick with the stock 255 cam.  That would indeed result in a ping monster with 10.5 pistons.  It's all about the combination, and the combination they recommended to him indicates they don't have a clue.
