Paint Question
« on: October 11, 2010, 12:33:27 AM »

Hi all.  Newbie here.  I'm waiting on my first CVO...a 2011 Black/Crimson SESG, due in within 2 weeks.  :pepper:  I'm going to install the aux passing lamp and bracket kit (69818-06) with the bullet turns up front, but with a twist.  I want to have the bracket, aux lamp buckets and bullets painted/powdercoated black to match the black on the front end cowbell downtubes (and plan on leaving the trim rings chrome, like the headlight).  This will essentially match the setup of the black 2010 SEUC with blacked out aux lamp bracket (pic).  These parts come chromed out of the box, of course.

Anyone who knows paint/powdercoat have any recommendations on specific color of black to match, process, and how I might get the lamp socket and wires out of the bullet turn buckets before taking them to a painter/powdercoater?

Thanks in advance.  Found this forum about a week ago and been like a kid in a candy store ever since!

Dave
