OK, just tried searching for a fix for this and all I found was to replace it with the locking release. Is that really all we can do to fix that buzz?

Can't ya just "tweak" the latch a little and make  it tighter.

Am I correct in saying that it is the button that is rattling and not the entire fuel door??? tweaking the latch to make the lock tighter will not help the button from making that buzzing noise. Yes..replace it with the locking one...that's what I did.....after 2 replacements under warranty

I had this problem last year,  I bought the "spring loaded lock"(I don't have the HD part#) for the fuel door and it fixed the rattle for good.

Yep, it's the button not the door itself. I pushed on both repeated times and when I held the door, the buzz was there, when I touched the button only, the buzz stopped.

Yep...been there..done that.......I put the in the lockable one and noise gone!

Crap, I like the smooth look but that buzz was driving me nuts!!

HD has a lockable one that you don't need a key to open. It works with any key, and can be left in the unlocked position so you just push on the center of the cylinder and it opens the door.

Thanks for that, sounds like what I will be doing tomorrow, spending another $30 or so on the darn bike 

I am kidding about that. I love this bike and so far in 18 months of owning it(12 months ride time ) I have logged 18,000 miles and have 1 more trip this year planned. I leave for Tampa Nov 2nd on it. It's going to be a chilly start for sure

I had pretty loud pipes on mine and that rattle seems to break right through the exhaust sound....

Wow hey Spike I just discovered yesterday on a ride to Blue Ridge, GA. My fuel door is doing the same rattle thing and it really drives me nuts. It took me a long time to figure out what was making the noise. Thanks for the info about the fix. I don't really like the look of the barrel lock button either but I guess I will change it because the noise really bugs me.

It took me most of the year to figure it out so don;t feel bad  I kept touching the dash, the fuel door, the fairing, the lowers the tank but I never touched the button.
