Like how you have it up on the jacks..... afraid to do that here, earthquake might knock'em down.

Thanks!  I have never been in a earthquake...but the bikes are real secure the road king has bolt down hook to hold it on the stand, I have climbed up on my road king while it is up there.  I think it helps to keep it off the wheels, but I have no facts about it.

Not a issue here In Sunny Arizona. Some of our most comfortable riding is done in the dead of winter when its 80 degrees. I know there was a reason I moved out of the cold country! Its nice not owning a snow shovel!

I do pretty much what everyone else has said- wash and dry off real well, stabil in full tank of gas run in for 5 mins, engine oil change, battery tender, overinflate tires and park on plywood, cover with the CVO cover (inside my garage), and stuff steel wool in the exhaust pipes just in case of mice.

Fill up, plug in the battery tender, cover and done.  Never had a problem.

Kinda of ironic. Before I retired and started spending 5 months every summer back in Maine, I'd have nearly two months here in SoCal of downtime due to temps being over 100. Now I get the best of both worlds. The gorgeous New England summers and the beautiful southwest desert landscapes in the winter. I look forward every year to when the daytime temps in the Mojave and Borrego deserts drop down in to the 60's and it rains to ride through the vast plains of desert flowers and take breaks to soak in the hot springs along the way. No attempt here to be a chithead just giving praise to the greatness that is our Almighty for his the glory of his creation.

To answer the topic of this thread. I lived in Maine year round for 44 years. I used to ride my motorcycle as much as was possible even in the winter so some years, the battery stayed in it year round. When it got periously cold, I put the battery on a trickle charger. I always kept my bikes salt and dirt free and did not cover them with a fitted cover (too much condensation) I also never let them go more than two weeks without taking the cover off (usually a soft blanket with canvas over that) starting them up and letting them run until the heads were too warm to hold my hand on them. If you just start and stop, you cause condensation in your oil that won't dry (burn off) from engine heat so that's important to remember. Then because I'd be jonesing for the road, I'd clean the bike from wheel to wheel with old baby diapers (this was before microfibre cloths) and finally put a coat of Turtle Wax over everything but the exhaust. Keeping a good coat of wax on the bike made it so much easier to wash off road grime if I took the bike out in January for a ride around the block. And while it may sound kinda dumb to have to spend two hours cleaning for a 20 minute ride, it was a Sunday afternoon spent with my motorcycle which was always a good way to forget about ole man winter for a bit.

2010 CVO Spiced Rum Street Glide - unheated garage storage as soon as the first snow falls. Its not the snow but the crap they put on the roads that ends my riding season. Running with Stabil in the gas tank for one tank before I shut it down to make sure it gets into the entire fuel system. Full fuel tank, more Stabil, wash and wax it, battery tender on it and cover it. Leave undisturbed until March..... or when they sweep the streets clean of the salted sand.

Why park on plywood? Someone else said park on top of plywood on top of carpet...
