Nicely summarized.  DOOFUS

To start you need to get rid of the catalytic converter.  You can mod your own header or get an aftermarket.  Simply said you can not, will not get rid of the heat with a giant cork in your exhaust.

Now for tuners you will get a wide variety of opinions.  Make no mistake that each of these sites have there loyalties.  I started with an SSERT and a dyno tune.  I was not happy with the results.  The bike ran just as hot.  How do I know this...I don't, but... I rode with an identical bike that had zero mods and we both kicked down to one cylinder at the exact same time.  Is this an exact measurement of how hot they are running?  Of course not, but it just did not feel any cooler and my oil temps were just as high as before.

I now have a Thundermax with autotune which uses different O2 sensors that allow richer AFR's in closed loop fuel injection.  My bike now starts better, runs cooler and has a he11 of a lot more power than it did with the SSERT.  If you go this direction you will need to order an exhaust for a 2009 so it has the correct location/size O2 bungs for the Tmax.  The Tmax will auto adjust your AFR's depending on many variables, but one variable it uses is engine temp.  The engine gets hotter it gives it more fuel, results lower temp.
You will find that depending on which site you go to there will be lot's of support for one brand or another.

Power commander also has an autotune with different O2 sensors that you will find good reports from those that are using it...not many here using the Tmax or PCV but the ones you hear from with current generation tuners do seem very happy with the results.

Many here who had older versions of the Tmax will tell you it is crap.  My personal experience has been great.

Ask around and see how rich your bike can be tuned "in closed loop" with a stock HD O2 sensor.

Fullsac is strongly supported here because he is outstanding and so are his products.

Just wanted to throw out some options.  Do your home work, many jump on the band wagon and will tell you what works best, but have no idea what they are talking about.
They read it on the internet so it must be true.

Good question, I have the same bike in Rio Red.  I have picked 1.75 Fullsac inserts hoping with time they will get louder plus Jackpot's ceramic coated 2.1.2 and HD's SE Pro Super Tuner.  The X-pipe is on back order and will be a couple of weeks before shipping.  I will install all components and then have it dyno-tuned by my dealership.  I would like to have a stock bench mark dyno run done before so we have a comparision.  Maybe they will throw in the before run as part of the deal.

Fullsac X Pipes are shipping daily.

Why not just order the 2 1/2" cores if you hope to get louder?
I like the quieter of the smaller baffles, but, that's just me. 8)

I really like the TTS.  vtune works pretty darn well.  I had my vtuned bike out in the mountains last Sunday and the engine ran great, running up and down the hills and on the highway.
Not having ever owned anything else other than an original SERT, I can't really give any insight as to whether a TTS is better or worse than a PCV or one of the autotune ecms.
I'm pretty sure you'd be happy with it though.

I've always sided with an article I read many moons ago, where an exhaust that is ceramic coated worked better than one that is not.
The reason behind this is that a ceramic coated pipe keeps the heat in the pipe and helps keep it from radiating out. A steel pipe without a ceramic coating does not do this and allows much of the heat to radiate where you don't want it to. Ceramic coating inside and out is even better but is much more costly.
It works for me on my big block Chevelle and should work equally well on my RG. That's why I went with the Fullsac X pipe.
I use the Fullsac 2 inch CVO cores, X pipe and TTS tuner and have no regrets. It also looks 100% stock which is very good for those members in states that are starting to crack down on any non stock exhaust.
I'm looking to do a little test between my x pipe and a friend of mine with another brand pipe in regards to heat. Same bike, same test route. I'll take a digital heat reading and post the numbers.
Do the research and make your choice.
