what happened in the first half of 20th century can only be compared to the
black death and the
30 years war.
In eastern Europe the brutality of both wars culminated - and due to communism the tremendous wounds still can be seen today. It is simply beyond imagination how especially the territory today belonging to Poland, Ukraina and the baltic states suffered. And some of the most unhuman deeds were committed only after WWII had "officially" ended.
It takes some undigging as decades went by in wich publishing or even talking about what happened there and then was extremely unwellcome - but that seems to have changed. The Yugoslavian wars confronted us with some conflicts unresolved since 1914 and forced us to go back to this time in analysis of those problems of today.
Us Europans can only pray our politicians will be so kind to learn the lessons so dearly payed for in masses of blood only half a century ago.
But back to Bohemia - did I mention
