Question?
« on: October 23, 2010, 12:49:29 PM »

Does anyone know of a way to cover the electronic fuel injector wiring around the air intake?  After installing a high flow air intake, the left side wiring and plug is poor craftmanship and there has got to be a way to hide that plug and wiring?  Also, a tip.  A friend of mine has been spraying Armor All on his BLACK engine for about 2 years now and 12,000 miles.  His engine looks great, dark black color and apparently no damage or fade residue.  3rd point.  i replaced my stock sheild on my CVO Ultra with the 7" windsplitter.  i stand 5' 7" and this windshield works great versus the stock sheild.

You can order the wiring shield, in either black wrinkle finish or gloss black finish.  The addition of this shield and one additional gasket between it and the air cleaner backing plate will space out the backing plate from the heads, however.  I don't know what the thickness of the shield and gasket is off the top of my head, but whatever it is it will create a like sized gap at the backing plate to head breather bosses.  I wouldn't suggest just adding the shield and then cranking the breather bolts down to force everything into place, so this isn't just a simple one part addition if you want to do it right.  A spacer will need to be installed at each breather boss equal in thickness to the shield and the compressed thickness of the addtional gasket.  I would imagine a stainless or aluminum washer of the same thickness as the plate, with a gasket on the head side equal to the thickness of the gasket for the shield, would work.

The part numbers for the shield are 29009-08 for wrinkle black, or 28890-09 for gloss black.  The gasket part number is 27948-08.  Stainless or aluminum washers should be fairly easy to find at any good hardware store.

The KuryAkyn TB cover works great at covering the wires and looks even better. http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/catID/0/scID/0/IMID/1473

I also have the Throttle body bracket cover http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/home.productdetail/catid/15/scid/32/imid/1475

Here's the cover on my 2010 SEUC (58mm TB).
