I'm thinking about going with the air kit, a SERT and either the Rinehart tru-duals or Rinehart slip-ons.

This sounds like your friend never had his bike tuned after the true dual installation, as you still have a pipe on the left side whether it's true duals or the stock crossover. Most complaints from stock setups are heat on the right side, so most likely your friends bike was running hot on the rear cylinder. One of the reasons I like duals so much is the lack of heat compared to stock. Here in good ole Tejas, anything that runs cooler is an advantage.
It hasn't been hot here yet since I went to the true duals but I've noticed a difference already on my right leg by not having the crossover.  I'm looking forward to the heat reduction when it does finally get hot here!

You are right he didn't have it tuned, just canned down load and air kit. The biggest problem was just in town, like Daytona when waiting to move.  If he had it tuned then the heat  wouldn't have been a problem?  I didn't realize that could that much difference.  This place is very nice to have around to find out answers to problems.  Have a very good local dealer, but small.  Just add a dyno last year and still learning.  Most dyno run are just to check performance not to tune.  Thanks again!

Just now getting a few miles and thinking about the sert when i read there being a shortage of them.  If not available what's next best or should I wait for some other after market product?  It runs good with the air kit and flash but would like to have more.
