Need assistance finding a book....
« on: October 24, 2010, 01:15:13 PM »

I am trying to locate the original "Chevrolet Power Book".  The original Power Book was green paged, loose leaf bound with a spriral wire.  The pages were typed - all the sketches were hand sketches.  There were no photographs.

This was an official GM - Chevrolet book.  It was the precursor to the more professionally produced "Chevrolet Power Books" which I believe are still produced.

In the back of this book were hand sketches of suspension pickup points for a 1969 Camaro road racing car.  This is what I'm specifically looking for - the sketches - although I would like the entire book.

If anyone has one they would be willing to copy - or knows of one I could purchase - it would be greatly appreciated.   :2vrolijk_21:

Have you tried Camaro and/or Corvette discussion groups?  Same goes for associated car clubs.  I've found those places the best "go to" for car related stuff (was a member of a car club for about 25 years).  If you're not a member, you could shoot a letter (or e-mail, if available) to a contact within the club.  I'm sure someone would be willing to help.  You might even get lucky and have someone copy those pages for you.

I found an ad for a 1st editon on the VCCA (Vintage Chevrolet Club of America) Parts for Sale board (link - http://vcca.org/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/175994/wts_1975_Chevrolet_Power_Book_).  Ad was posted on 6/17/10 and sold on 6/18/10.  They're out there but you need to ask around.

That's about all the help I'm good for.....good luck in your quest!
