Check the rear brake light switch adjustment.

What do you consider hard? Normally I use the throttle to disengage my cruise because using the brake is not comfortable.
Mine has never been like a car were you just tap the pedal and it disengages. It does require a bit more force.

There is no rear brake switch adjustment. Does your brake light work from the rear brakes? If not the pressure switch has gone bad. There is also a complete cruise diagnostic system built into the bike.  Give me a call and i'll walk you through it.

Looks like the brake relay is making clicking noise when brake is applied lightly. Brake light works intermitently until brake is pressed hard.

Interesting...I generally use a light touch on the clutch to disengage the cruise. This way I don't send an errant brake signal to those behind me.

You can also roll the throttle back to disengage

my throttle cruise switch went bad,  i disconnected it down by the gas tank.  Seems to work fine and i didn't have t replace the throttle cable either.
