Blue & Blacks SEEG's
« on: October 26, 2010, 05:00:29 PM »

Out of curiosity, how many guys still have their B/B SEEG's. I don't see very many of them color out there and not many for sale either.

I was looking for a King Pack for mine to replace the chopped one I have that I don't care much for. I believe they only built around 1500 of this color.

I have an orange one, not a blue/black, but I bought a king tour pak that was grey and had it painted to match.  It was a lot easier than trying to find one...

Still have mine, sold the chopped tour pac and painted a king.  The only difference was the paint on the lid, I have a luggage rack and didn't care if it had the design on it.  The lids will fit both, you could put it on a king bottom.

I wondered about using the bottom off of a king pack. I have some painted parts from my accident I plan on selling so maybe I will just wait and try to find a bottom...

I sure don't, my lowers were off when I went down. I have a front fender that can repaired fairly easy and both bag lids.

Right lid needs a little work.
Left is still on the bike, new one on order due to barely seeing a scratch
Front fender I never knew was damaged till after the original estimate.

I priced a new set of lowers and OMG $1045 for the set due to some rock chips.

The bag lids were 800.00 a piece and the front fender was 1000.00 and it took from Aug 3rd to Oct 6th to get pained parts from HD.

The mileage on mine is 30,039. When I bought it last Feb it had 23,014 on it. My accident was July 28th.

Just ordered a front fairing from Jenny for $718   very reasonable....got a price on painting mine...$750

Guy gave me a price on painting the whole bike $2400

I can understand why a whole bike painting would be cheaper that piece by piece

Since I have the worst luck with painters I just bought the front fairing

I like my B&B.  I keep spending money on it to keep it updated with features that the newer SE's have.  so far i average ~2000 a year to keep me happy with it and not looking at new ones.   My tourpak was purchased from the dealer with factory paint ~1500 as i remember.  I would think that its still available.   I think i have the original receipt for the tourpak with all the part numbers if its of any value to you ....

also,  i keep spare painted parts that i have picked up from time to time, for that time of need.  for example, i keep a spare painted fairing  new in the box thinking that the original would be trashed in a few years from rock chips.  that has not been the case.    I have thought about having spare wheels to deal with the chrome issues, and lesson the cost of tire changes but have never run across a good enough deal to make me jump.
