My 2002 FLHTC
« on: March 19, 2006, 01:56:00 PM »

This is my first post here, and thought I'd share a picture of my 2002 Electra Glide Classic. This was my first showing ever at a motorcycle show. Entered into the Toronto International Motorcycle Show.

The concept / design is all mine, but the paint was done by a friend of mine - Insane Customs. The drop shadow is a great touch.

I was looking for that 50's cruiser paint job. Next to it being black cherry candy instead of black, I think I achieved that look.

Thanks for the comments... The pipes were fun to build. I used the flame floorboards from HD, and surface traced them out (Took me back to the days when you scratched your pencils over a penny) then photocopied them, then reduced them to the size I wanted. . Then cut a 2" piece of pipe in half, and added 7 1/2" cold rolled steel, tapered to a 2" opening at the other end. Plasma cut the flames, with lots of sanding, and tig welded the sheet metal to the pipe. Filled in the holes, more sanding, and 100 hour of labour later, off to the chromers.

Worth every minute, however, now if I take it to any open field type shows, I think I'm going to have to have two caution sticks behind the bike, as my painter already cut himself a few times.

Thanks again!

Oh I'm sure you'll love your just as much as I love mine. Funny thing though. I've spent 4 years turning mine into a Street Glide, and they come out with one in 2006, at half the price I've put into mine. Oh well... I've done a few more things since these pictures were taken, so as soon as I get a few more, I'll post some fresh pictures
