New D&D fatcats-less power?
« on: October 30, 2010, 06:45:16 PM »

My mechanic just told me that the D&D Fat Cats for the 2009 + have been found by his tuner shop to make about 10% less power (or torque?) than the older version.

He figures maybe it's because there is an extra bend in the pipe to clear the wider swingarm.

Apparently he called D&D, and after some run around, got the answer that the older pipe will fit the 2009+, but might be touching the axle bolt.

Wonder if any of the tuners on the site have also found that the newer pipes have less performance.

Pretty sure SBB (Chip) installed the older D&D Fat Cats on his 2009 SEUC - and spaced them out a bit to clear the axle bolt.   :2vrolijk_21:

Ya, that's what my mechanic is going to do, as the D&D is for his personal bike, and he believes the older one gets better numbers.

It depends on the baffle. The new Concentric baffle is definitely a power robber but is quieter. In general the new(er) bikes do not make the same power as the earlier bikes.

I don't have a clue as to whether the newer one is better than the older one.
I just know I had a D&D 2 into 1 and a new 09 SEUC in September 08 and had to modify the pipe to work.
