Michigan Riders!
« on: October 31, 2010, 11:32:03 AM »

Well very soon all we have to look forward to is the motorcycle show at the Rock on January 9th which for me, triggers the starting point to "think spring".  Any senior members interested in polling and maybe organizing a spring ride for Michigan members?  I don't know how to get started, but i would be willing to help in any way.  Based on how spread out everyone is, this may or may not be possible?  I live in Plymouth, work in Ann Arbor.

I actually live in Plymouth.  We have a great group of guys from the area that get together generally on Sundays and go for a ride as weather permits.  We also get together for breakfast on the Sunday morning of the motorcycle show at Rock Financial and plan our annual ride.  This is our 6th year, someone new plans a trip that typically takes place in June or July.  Our 1st year was for only 4 days and we went to Tennessee.  Our 2nd year was a ride up north and around Lake Huron through Canada, that was 5 days.  Our 3rd trip we graduated, we had a private transport take the bikes to Denver, we flew, picked them up, rode throughout Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota for 9 full days, the guy picked up the bikes, we went to the airport and flew home.  That was an incredible trip and it also gave us license from that point that all trips moving forward will be 9 days.  The following year we went to the Outer Banks, and last year, back to Tennessee.  This year we are considering going Northeast along the lake shore of Lake Ontario, over to Lake Placid, Bar Harbor Maine, then down south through the mountains back into Pennsylvania accross route 6 and back home.  We are also considering Southern Colorado, into New Mexico, northeast Arizona, Utah, back in and out of Colorado Springs.  That trip would involve transporting and flying which is a little more pricey, but worked out great!  One of our friends lives in Northville, i forgot the subdivisions name, but hes off 6 mile just east of Beck in the golf course community.  I am the General Manager at the BMW store in Ann Arbor, reach out if you are interested in meeting for breakfast that Sunday prior to the show.  We will also decide that morning on whether we go east or west next year.  The trip norheast will be in July, the trip out west will be mid June because of weather.
