Most miles on a 110 engine

Just wondering how long the 110 is good for. What's the most you've heard of?

How much money your willing to spend is the determining factor in how long it is good for.
In my case it's a 2 to 1 money spending ratio comparing a 110 to an old style 88/103" motor.

I had 45,000 miles on 07 before totaled out.15,000 on 2010 no problems. jdo

This is a great question, I put 15,000 miles on my baby girl this summer so knowing what to expect would be great.

Seems like the 110 gets a lot of bad press. I have one, 09 SE fat bob with 6k miles and no engine issues. But I have a CVO SG on the way and it will receive about 12k a year or more. My wife and I are pretty serious tourers so I'm hoping the 110 will last a while.

Don't think I wanna know how long the 110 will last....  kinda like knowing when I'm gonna die, it WOULD change everything.

Wow, Kinda deep subject.
But really, I don't know why with proper maintenance one couldn't expect to put 100,000 on it. Course like anything, the last 50k wouldn't be like the first 50k. I rode the dog pods Outta my 07 96 cu in Ultra and out 60,000 on her in 22 months with no probs other than tires and oil. And a new back tire every 4 to six weeks ain't cheap!

08 - 43,000 and no problems on the engine so far ... :)

Compensator replaced with the SE Comp, Dealer waited too long to get the compensator fixed. It was really banging on startup, and of course the dealer blamed it on the installed GPS and Radar detector. Called HD customer seervice and the dealer ended up replacing all the Primary and transmission bearings plus the complete clutch basket.

Back to like new!!  ;D

I had 49,000 on my 08 SEUC Kasper before I traded it in for a 2010 SEUC. I have 12,000 on my 2010 SEUC now.

From what I have read on the site and heard, 2007 was a very bad year for the 110. My 09 SERG only has 4,500 miles on it so I'm no help there.

21k before new motor went in. Nothing wrong with the 110 it's nice and warm in a box in the house. 30k now and ready for next season.

On my '07 the original motor failed at 22k.  Have 54k on replacement motor, no problems.

42k km/ 26k mile on my 07 Springer so far. only probs were the leak, which was cured by the upgrade
