Air sensor location
« on: November 02, 2010, 12:48:37 AM »

The only thing I could not figure out on my project was the location of the air sensor. Where is it on the batwing?

The earlier models had them mounted on the left fairing upright. Later models had them down on the left side of the frame at the front by the neck.

It really does not matter where it is located,  it is never correct any way, it is just there to fill the hole until you put in an oil temp gauge.  :cherry:

True story about the air temp gauge.  I was in a dealership in Rogers, AR one Saturday this past summer.  Just farting around.  Was chatting with the SM about nothing in particular.  It seems to be a good shop and he's a good guy to talk to.  He wandered as we talked and we ended up back in the shop for a bit.

While there heard one tech yell to the other that the service order on the bike he was working on was for an "inaccurate rain gauge."  I gagged on the soda I was drinking.  The other tech yelled back at the first guy "a what?"  First guy laughed and repeated "rain gauge."

Second guy asks "why'd you call it that?"  Tech #1 says, "Heard it at a factory class, they picked it up online or something, seems pretty accurate to me."
