we visited mostly touristy ones, if we had more time we would have gotten farther away from london/westminster and found some local stuff.

Best of luck with getting match tickets, you might have more luck with a midweek game than a saturday, there are not so many ticket touts selling on the streets now a days

Argentina steakhouse or something similar to that name, on the river. My daughter swears by it.

We'll be there in mid February visiting my little girl.

As far as pubs - start by avoiding the ones that say genuine English pub.

Enjoy the time there...my son studied there for several summers and enjoyed the area...and based upon his charge card bill...the PUBS too!

I envied him...

You should try and make the ACE cafe.  It is where the name "cafe racer" started.

http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/events.aspx

It's a famous British motor head hang out, and is easy to get to off the tube/train.
