What is the stock 2011 CVO Softail Convertible Exhaust?
« on: November 09, 2010, 07:40:43 PM »

Are stock CVO exhausts the Screaming Eagle exhaust? The brochure and owners manual do not explicitly state that it is. My assumption (you know what happens when you ass-u-me) is that it would be, since the CVO has all of the high end stuff. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks,
Joe

I have a 2010 cvo convertible, and mine were stock exhausts not screaming eagles.

That's very interesting. Today I called the dealer and the guy that sold me the bike said it IS the Screaming Eagle exhaust. I can't imagine the 2010 CVO being the stock Harley exhaust and the 2011 being the SE exhaust.

Earlier today I called H-D directly to get an answer to this question. The answer is as follows:

- the CVO exhaust IS a Screaming Eagle exhaust, BUT, it is not the same one as in the H-D parts and accessories catalogue. It sits right in between (decibel level and tone quality) the stock Harley exhaust on the standard softails (Fat Boy, etc) and the Screaming eagle exhaust in the catalogue.

This explains why I was getting mixed answers to this question. The dealer said it was Screaming Eagle, while some CVO owners were saying no.

Hope this makes sense and helps anyome else that may have the same question.

I believe the ones here in the U.S. are as you have described.

I can tell you this: the guy at H-D corporate did not encourage me to get the Screaming Eagle exhaust in the catalogue. He stated it will not be louder, but will have a bit more aggressive tone. In his opinion the difference will not be great enough to warrant changing it out.

Very interesting.....
