New map updates and version 4.0 system software now available for download at the Garmin site.

FYI - Zumo 550 Owners...

Did the map update "City Navigator North America 2011.3" last night and was only able to get the lower 49 states installed. When doing the install I got a message that I didn't have enough room on the 550 to install US & Canada. Checked my 550 after and I have 92.8 MB of free space left on unit itself and have cleaned out all unnecessary files with only one text-to-talk voice left.

Going to wait and see what happens w/the next (and future) update and if I'm still unable and decide I want to go north of the border sometime might have to upgrade to a newer Zumo.

The updates are free for the first 60 days after you register the unit.  So if like in my case, I got two free map updates on the 660 that came with my RUSE.

They (Garmin) does offer a nüMaps Lifetime™ which you pay one time for and get updates when available for as long as you own that 660 that you initially bought the updates for.

I loaded the other maps on my SD card. The zumo seemed to just find them when I looked for them on the zumo

Does Garmin post key aspects of the updates?  Got the update for free but couldn't find a summary of what's new.

I spoke to Garmin about this last year Gary, they sent me a step by step on how to slove the issue, but it's seven pages long.

I tried coverting it to PDF and posting it, but it's still too big and wont work.
